New Yorkers woke up Saturday morning to news of the United States-Israeli military action against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
News 12 spoke with residents in Downtown Brooklyn about the happenings in the Middle East Country.
“No one wants war, there’s so much war in this world right now, we don’t want a new one," said Yigit, a Turkish immigrant and owner of Psta.
President Donald Trump spoke on the attacks early Saturday.
“I do not make this statement lightly. The Iranian regime seeks to kill. The lives of courageous American heroes may be lost, and we may have casualties. That often happens in war, but we're doing this not for now. We're doing this for the future," Trump said.
Some residents pushed back against that statement.
“There doesn’t have to be casualty there doesn’t have to be war," said Kyra, a Brooklyn resident.
