Men sentenced for killing 2 teens, injuring another in Cypress Hills shooting
Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez says two Brooklyn men were sentenced for killing two teen boys and injuring a third during a 2020 shooting in Cypress Hills.
Joshua Bonilla will serve 32 years to life in prison for firing 10 rounds into George Walker Jr. Park on July 26, fatally striking two boys in the head: Kleimer Piron, 16, and Antonio Villa, 18. A 17-year-old boy was also struck but survived. Bryant, who drove Bonilla in a stolen car to carry out the shooting, will serve 20 years to life.
Bonilla, 29, and Perez, 20, are affiliated with the Warblock Street gang, prosecutors say. The pair circled the block multiple times searching for rival gang members before stopping at the park near Vermont Street and Jamaica Avenue at around 6:30 p.m. Bonilla then fired a handgun out the window of the car Perez was driving.
Bonilla was convicted of murder, attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon on Dec. 16, 2025. Perez pleaded guilty to murder and attempted murder on Nov. 5, 2025.
“Today’s lengthy prison terms hold these defendants accountable for the brazen murders of Antonio Villa and Kleimer Piron and the attempted murder of a third teenager,” Gonzalez said. “While gun violence in Brooklyn has reached record lows, we remain focused on the small number of individuals who put our communities at risk. We will continue to focus on these important cases to ensure that our parks and streets remain safe for every Brooklyn resident.”
