The Giants are awaiting the results of an MRI after quarterback Jaxson Dart left Monday night's loss to the Rams with a knee injury.

The 23-year-old was injured early in the first quarter when he was hit by multiple defenders while attempting a pass. Much of the contact appeared to land on Dart's left knee.

The former Ole Miss quarterback immediately grabbed his knee and remained on the ground, raising concerns among teammates, coaches and fans.

Dart was later able to walk off the field under his own power, offering some hope that the injury may not be as severe as initially feared.

Coach Jim Harbaugh said after the game that an MCL sprain appears to be a possibility, but the team is waiting for MRI results before determining the extent of the injury.

“We'll know more tomorrow," Harbaugh said. "That's in the neighborhood of it, I would say. We'll have an MRI tomorrow and have a really good feel for it.”

Veteran Jameis Winston entered the game in relief, but the Rams cruised to a 28-6 victory over the Giants.

Dart was one of several NFL starting quarterbacks injured over the weekend. Caleb Williams of the Bears and Jayden Daniels of the Commanders also left games with injuries.
