A Brooklyn mother says she is outraged after surveillance video showed her 2-year-old son falling down a flight of stairs while at daycare.

Anetra Williams told News 12 on Friday that her toddler, Khaleel, tumbled down about 15 steps earlier in the week, as he attended BumbleBeesRus on Fulton Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

"I put trust in them to watch over my child, protect my child when he's within their care," said Williams.

Williams gave News 12 the surveillance video, which showed the child near the top of a staircase as an adult appeared to pick something off the floor. That's when a gate swings shut and hit the child before he fell.

The video showed that three adults reached for the closing gate but were unsuccessful in catching the child before the fall.

News 12 blurred the adults' faces in the video because, as of Friday, they had not been charged with a crime.

Williams claimed that the staff only provided the child with ice packs until she was able to arrive about 30 minutes later.

"I was told that they would not be able to contact 911 until I arrived on the location," said Williams. "911 should've been called first and then me."

The mother said her son was conscious after the fall and taken to a hospital, but she worried about long-term health issues.

"I definitely lack trust with [BumbleBeesRus] ," said Williams. "Of course, my son will not be going back."

News 12 reached out to BumbleBeesRus and the Department of Education for comment but has not heard back.
