A woman was killed by an ambulance in an early morning hit-and-run in Midwood.
Surveillance video shows the ambulance making a left on Avenue O just after 6:30 a.m. Thursday and striking the 44-year-old as she crosses the street.
Authorities say the woman suffered severe injuries. EMS rushed her to Maimonides Medical Center where she died.
Maimonides Medical Center says it was their ambulance involved, which police say did not remain at the scene.
The hospital issued the following statement:
"The Maimonides family is devastated by this tragic loss. Our EMT staff who were involved in the incident have been suspended pending the outcome of the NYPD's investigation. Our heart goes out to the victim's family and friends."
No arrests have been made as of Thursday evening.
