Water returned to some people in Canarsie on Tuesday following an outage along Avenue N.
News 12 was told the outage stretched at least four blocks, but some neighbors say it was as many as nine.
A Department of Environmental Protection spokesperson said due to challenges crews encountered, the agency had to extended shutdown boundaries.
Residents say the water was turned off Monday around 7 a.m. with little to no notice.
"They didn't give us like a heads up to fill up water and stuff like that. So, we just left with no water to bathe, no water to do anything," said Elsie Pierre, of Canarsie.
During the outage, a portable "Water on the Go" fountain was set up at 8625 Avenue N for residents.
DEP officials say there were no impacts to transportation.
