Sources say Manuel Rangel’s body was found in the waters near Governors Island earlier Thursday.

Last week, News 12 spoke with his girlfriend, Shakty Castro, who was tirelessly looking for him.

She told News 12 they were planning to build a business and a future together.

Rangel’s family says his sister, who lives in Chile, is working to get a visa to get to the United States and make funeral arrangements.
