Police say a girl is dead after being struck by a school bus in a hit-and-run in Bath Beach.

Emergency personnel responded to a 911 call for a pedestrian struck at 23rd Avenue and Bath Avenue just after 3 p.m. Thursday. Authorities say the bus struck the girl and did not remain on the scene.

EMS took the girl to Maimonides Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Authorities say officers stopped a bus, but they are unable to confirm if it is the driver that struck the girl.

Her age has not yet been confirmed.
