The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the deadly subway incident that killed 57-year-old Yaw Boahene at the Utica Avenue station on Monday.

Police say Boahene was getting off a northbound A train shortly before 5:50 p.m. when his backpack became caught in the doors.

He fell between the train cars and onto the tracks as the train began moving.

EMS pronounced Boahene dead at the station.

The NTSB says it is sending a team to investigate the incident, which is expected to arrive Thursday.
