A 25-year-old man was stabbed in the back in Crown Heights on Wednesday, just steps away from where a man was
fatally stabbed the night before.
The violence broke out just before 3:20 p.m. near Utica Avenue and Eastern Parkway.
Authorities say the 25-year-old was attacked with an unknown object.
EMS took him to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County, where he is expected to recover.
Residents who spoke with News12 say it’s not surprising to hear of a stabbing in the area but knowing that two people were stabbed less than 24 hours apart in the same vicinity is alarming.
“I hope and pray that some kind of intervention happens,” said one resident. “And, you know, we can stop this or put an ease to it or something of the sort because it's out of control. Twenty-five and 38, these are young people. It makes me even wonder about myself.”
According to police data, felony assaults are up 1% compared to this time last year. However, that does not yet include these two incidents.
At this time, the suspects in both of these stabbings are still on the run.
