A 60-year-old male has been arrested on charges of criminal possession of a loaded firearm, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of a weapon.
The man, Robert Chan, resides on Lenox Road near the crime scene.
Emergency responders were called to 261 Lenox Rd. just before 3:30 p.m.
Police say paramedics rushed the 52-year-old to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
Video from the Citizen App taken at the scene shows police cruisers and ambulances rushing to the scene.
Police say he was shot multiple times in the face and body.
“I was just walking home and I heard the shooting and saw one man on the ground,” said a resident who asked not to be named.
Police closed off the front entrance to the building throughout the night, as bloody clothing items were seen sitting outside the apartment building.
The violence erupted across the street from Rep. Yvette D. Clarke's office. News 12 reached out to her office for comment and is awaiting a response.
