Five men from New York and New Jersey have been arrested for allegedly attempting to sexually exploit children online in Rockland County, according to New York State Police.
The arrests were made during a multi-agency operation targeting internet crimes against children.
Investigators said the suspects are from Spring Valley, Poughkeepsie, Brooklyn, Secaucus, New Jersey, and Ronkonkoma on Long Island.
The men face charges including attempted rape, attempted disseminating indecent material to a minor, attempted unlawful dealing with a child and attempted endangering the welfare of a child.
Among those arrested were Oleksandr Vershok, 36, of Brooklyn; Anthony Kamycki, 36, of Ronkonkoma; Ritchy Mercure, 24, of Spring Valley; Alex Garrett, 26, of Secaucus; and Bryan Wylong, 24, of Poughkeepsie.
State police said four of the suspects were arraigned in Ramapo Town Court and remanded to the Rockland County Jail.
Wylong was arraigned in Orange County and remanded to the Orange County Jail.
Authorities said the investigation was conducted through partnerships focused on combating internet crimes against children.
