Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez says two men were sentenced for a gang-related retaliation killing in Clinton Hill.
Alexander Williams, of Brownsville, and Wydeem Rudd, of the Bronx, will both serve 45 years to life behind bars for fatally shooting Tylee Felder at the Lafayette Gardens NYCHA Houses in 2020.
Prosecutors say Williams, 29, is a member of the 900 gang while Rudd, 26, is an affiliate. The pair carried out the killing in retaliation for the shooting of a 900 gang member days earlier.
Williams and Rudd traveled by cab to Lafayette Gardens just before 3:45 p.m. on Sept. 8.
The duo, wearing hoods and masks, entered one of the development's buildings, at 645 DeKalb Ave., where they ambushed Felder, shooting him six times, including once in the head.
According to court documents, they then fired into a crowd outside the building, striking and injuring two men, 23 and 24 years old, both innocent bystanders.
Williams and Rudd were convicted of murder, attempted murder, assault, attempted assault and criminal possession of a weapon on Nov. 25, 2025.
"These defendants walked into a housing complex in the middle of the afternoon, opened fire, took a life, wounded innocent bystanders and put others at risk,” said Gonzalez. “Gun violence is at record lows in Brooklyn precisely because the NYPD and our prosecutors relentlessly focus on the drivers of crime such as these defendants, whose pointless and retaliatory gun violence led to far too much bloodshed. Today's sentences ensure justice for victims and make Brooklyn safer."
