The Dinosaur BBQ restaurant in Gowanus is closing its doors.

The restaurant is a fan favorite and has been in the borough for 15 years. A final date of service has not yet been announced.

In a social media post, the restaurant says the building will be demolished to make way for new apartments.

Long-time customers say they’re shocked by the news and are also disappointed with some of the sudden changes in the neighborhood.

“This is really the ravages of gentrification and when businesses don’t own their spaces,” said Allyson Martinez. “We come all the way from East Flatbush to get this. The first time I ever had Dinosaur was in Harlem, so I really do hope that they can find another space right here in Brooklyn.”

The Harlem and Syracuse locations are still open.
