NYPD officials said Monday evening that two officers shot a 49-year-old man who had pointed a gun at customers inside a Bronx deli.
At a news conference, detectives say suspect, identified as Victor Soto, was arguing with several people inside Sammy Gourmet Deli on Bainbridge Avenue and East 194th Street around 3:20 p.m.
They said surveillance cameras captured the incident both inside and outside of the deli.
Soto then allegedly took out a gun and pointed it at the people inside, who then ducked for cover.
Police say Soto was inside the deli harassing people prior to the event.

Soto then violently slammed the gun into a glass window of the deli, according to detectives.
Two officers arrived on scene and asked Soto to drop the weapon, but he did not comply and pointed the gun at them.
Officials then say an exchange of gunfire happened between the officers and Soto.
The suspect then opened fire while continuing to go northbound in front of civilians before the officers struck him.
Soto was taken to the hospital and was listed in stable condition.
Detectives say Soto had eight prior arrests, with several of them being in criminal possession of a firearm.
