A 71-year-old woman is injured after an unprovoked attack in Brighton Beach.
Police say the assault happened in front of 221 Brighton Beach Ave on Friday just before 10:30 a.m. The woman was walking when the attacker approached her from behind and pushed to the ground before running away.
The victim had lacerations, bruising and swelling to the face and knee as well as a jaw injury. EMS took her to NYC Health + Hospitals/ South Brooklyn Health and is expected to recover.
Police say she did not know her attacker.
