A ride home turned deadly for three Brooklyn teenagers Tuesday night, leaving three families grieving and several others hospitalized.

Sixteen-year-old Abdul Rehman, 18-year-old Huzayfah Makharesh and 17-year-old Konstantin Gerantidi were killed in the crash on the Belt Parkway, according to police.

Rehman was a rising high school junior who dreamed of one day owning a car. His best friend, Mohammed, says Rehman was planning to get one himself this school year.

"He dreamed of having a successful life," Mohammed said. "A mother and father cannot imagine burying their own kid."

Police say Rehman was riding in a black Escalade with four other teenagers when Makharesh, who was driving, attempted to slow down in the middle lane near Exit 1 after the vehicle ahead of them began driving slowly.

A vehicle behind the Escalade, occupied by two women, did not have enough time to react and slammed into the SUV, police say.

Rehman, Makharesh and Gerantidi were ejected from the Escalade and killed after the car overturned.

The other teenagers inside the Escalade and the two women in the other vehicle survived but were seriously injured.

Rehman’s uncle says the boys were on their way home when the crash happened.

“They were just 10 minutes from home,” his uncle said.
